Black and white line art is pencilled on xerox paper or bristol and inked with either disposable brush pens (the Mars ones hold their tip best but run out of ink fast), or actual ink and brushes, usually Sceptre Gold 1-6 brushes and india ink.  Sceptre Golds are a combo synthetic/sable mixture of bristle.  I also use various imported Chinese brushes with different hairs, like wolf, goat, horse, and ox. 
For sketchbooks stuff, no pencilling...I go straight in with a Kaimei refillable brush pen with a sable tip.
